Solo Career and "Thriller"
In 1979, Michael declared his independence and released his debut solo album, "Off the Wall." This disco masterpiece sold over 20 million copies, showcasing his remarkable vocal and songwriting abilities.
His fame reached unprecedented heights with the release of "Thriller" in 1982.

By teaching his people to clear the land with fire, inventing the cart and plow, and by taming the ox, and yoking the horse, he reputedly established a stable agricultural society in China; his catalog of 365 species of medicinal plants became the basis of later herbological studies.
Historicity of Shennong
It is uncertain as to whether Shennong is a completely historical figure or as a clan taken to refer to his people, the Shénnóngshì or "Clan of Shinong." Since shì can mean both "clan" and "maiden name" and serve as a masculine honorific like "mister" or "sir", it has also been used in reference to his people.
He started plowing the field when he was three years old.
Referred as the "God of Chinese herbal medicine," Shennong is believed to have classified 365 species of herbs or medicinal plants, later the basis of herbologica studies. Researchers believe that much of the text is composed of oral histories and traditions, eventually being compiled by various people during the Han period between 206 BCE and 220 CE (4).
This process has taken on it’s own culture with tea makers innovating on how to improve the end result. Being naturally adventurous and a keen herbalist, Shennong tried this brew and the rest about tea as known today is history.
For thousands of years, Shennong’s great spirit of "benefiting and rescuing people" has been highly respected and praised.
Chinese legend says that the discovery of tea was an accident that occurred when tea leaves from twigs being used for fire rose up on a column of hot air and subsequently landed in the water being boiled. When Shennong came across a yellow flower growing from a weed he ate it, causing a rapid reaction.
In 2009, he announced a farewell tour, "This Is It," but tragically died on June 25, 2009, due to a drug overdose.
