Today, she is the chairwoman of Access Bank Plc., Africa’s largest retail Bank, and prior to this appointment, she was the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Power (2013), Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Science & Technology (2011), and the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Internal Affairs (2010).
She was Senior Pharmacist-in-Charge at the Military Hospital, Benin City; and Research Pharmacist at St. Mary’s Hospital, Bradford, United Kingdom (while attending an in-service training). Throughout her career, Dr. Awosika has held significant positions in the Nigerian public sector, including serving as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministries of Internal Affairs, Science and Technology, and Power.

Dr (Mrs) Ajoritsedere Josephine Awosika (nee Okotie-Eboh) was born in Sapele, Delta State.
She is happily, married wth children. She is a fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy. Education took me to heights that would have been unimaginable for this little child. She is an alumna of the University of Bradford, where she holds a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Technology

Ajoritsedere (Dere) Josephine Awosika is a distinguished businesswoman and administrator, currently serving as the chairwoman of Access Bank Plc. Born in Sapele, Delta State, she is the daughter of Festus Okotie-Eboh, Nigeria’s first Minister of Finance in the First Republic.
Dr Awosika has a vast working experience, beginning as an intern at the General Hospital, Benin City. She reminds us that no matter where we come from, education can be the great equalizer, paving the way for a brighter future.
