Dr. Farrell earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Illinois State University (9174), Certificate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University (1976), a Post-Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy (1979), a Master of Applied Science in Health Sciences from Curtin University of Technology (1981), and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions (2007).

He was the co-owner and co-founder (1988) of Redwood Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Inc.

in Castro Valley, California.

He also authored a four-volume work on the Great Schism between East and West, with its cultural consequences for the resulting two Europes, entitled God, History, and Dialectic.

Joseph Patrick Farrell is an American theologian, scholar on the East–West Schism and the author of a number of books on alternative history, history, historical revisionism, archaeology, and science/physics.

In 2018 his career accomplishments were also recognized by the Northwestern Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Science when he was honored as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. It has yet to be peer reviewed by any major scholarly journal.[citation needed]

Other work

Farrell's other work deals with alternative archaeology, physics, technology, history and alternative history.

Farrell states that his books on Giza "takes off where Christopher Dunn's 'The Giza Power Plant' left off." He has also authored several books on the reputed survival of extraordinarily advanced Nazi secret weapons technology and its relationship to the U.S. Department of Defense's "black" technology programs. He helped establish the first description of specialty practice and standards for manual therapy education in the USA, and was instrumental in establishing the AAOMPT as a representative body for the USA as a full member country in the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapists.

In 2015, the Greater Bay Area AHA honored him as the Community Health Volunteer of the Year.

He is an advocate for prevention and treatment of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, as well as board member of the PulsePoint Foundation and on the Advisory Board of the Via Heart Project.

He is also Faculty Emeritus, Northern California Kaiser OrthopaedicManual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program

As a survivor of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and rescuer of two SCA survivors, he was chosen as a “50 for 50 Golden Anniversary Survivor Honoree” by the Citizen CPR Foundation at the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update, San Diego, California in 2010.

He has been honored for his professional contributions on numerous occasions, including the Paris Distinguished Service Award by the Academy of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy John McMennell Service Award and the Distinguished Lecture Award, Catherine Worthingham Fellow of the APTA and recently as a Distinguished Alumnus by Northwestern University Department of Physical Therapy & Human Movement Sciences.

The HSC has been teaching a “Hands-Only CPR/AED” program to 7th graders (3,000 children/year) in the San Ramon Valley California school district for seven years and have recently transitioned the program to the high school level due a law change in California. Joseph P. Farrell

Farrell has a doctorate in patristics from the University of Oxford, and pursues research in physics, alternative history and science, and “strange stuff”. One set concerns theology, the Church Fathers, and the Great Schism between East and West, with its cultural consequences for the resulting two Europes. Dr. Farrell retired in 2018 as a clinician and Senior Clinical Fellowship Faculty member of the Kaiser Northern California Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program, where he had taught and mentored within the Fellowship program since 1984.

Biography

Born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Farrell is Adjunct Professor of Patristic Theology and Apologetics at California Graduate School of Theology,[1] an unaccredited Christian institution of higher learning in La Habra, CA.

Additionally, he is an organist, plays the harpsichord and is a composer of classical music.[2]

Education

A student of Timothy Ware, Farrell became a professor of Patristics at Saint Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary.[citation needed] He also holds an M.A.

from Oral Roberts University, a B.A. from John Brown University and is a doctoral graduate (D.Phil.) of Pembroke College, Oxford University with specialty in Patristics awarded in 1987.[3]

Farrell has produced two major sets of works.

His book The Giza DeathStar was published in the spring of 2002, and was his first venture into “alternative history and science”.

His goal in his second life is to ensure that Sudden Cardiac Arrest becomes a household word throughout the USA and the world.

Joe is the Chair of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation Board of Directors.

Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of the PulsePoint Foundation and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, and the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research.

He has taught extensively on the state and national levels on topics relating to Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) and served on the Kaiser Northern California Graduate PT Education OMPT Fellowship program as a senior clinical fellowship faculty member for over 30 years.

His expertise and experience in communication, mentorship, clinical reasoning, orthopaedic manual physical therapy and political advocacy is significant and was highlighted in 2015, when he earned the Catherine Worthington Fellow status, the highest member honor bestowed by the APTA, and delivered the 2015 AAOMPT Distinguished Lecture.

The book includes a preface by Archimandrite (now Archbishop) Chrysostomos of Etna.[4]

He concentrated on St. Maximus the Confessor, publishing "Free Will in St. Maximus the Confessor" (forward by Timothy Ware - now Bishop Kallistos Ware), and "The Disputation with Pyrrhus". From 2014-2018 he served as the Co-Chair of the CPR/AED Consortium of the American Heart Association (AHA) Greater Bay Area 2020 Task Force.

His current research interests relate to clinical reasoning and employer perception or residency and fellowship graduates. He has previously also been awarded the Paris Distinguished Service Award by the APTA Orthopaedic Section and the John McMennell Service Award by the AAOMPT.
