In 1791 he added two operas: La clemenza di Tito, for the coronation of Leopold II, and Die Zauberflöte, a commission by the impresario, actor, and librettist Emanuel Schikaneder, and Mozart’s greatest musical triumph.

Their most significant contribution to European culture was their consistent support of the arts, especially music. As a grown man he would sign himself “Wolfgang Amadé Mozart,” or just “Mozart.” But for now he was Wolfgang, or more affectionately, “Wolfgangerl.”
