Students preparing for the ministry were taught principles of faith through a three-step formula (summarized as): Say it, do it, and receive it. Although he had been raised a Southern Baptist, he had never accepted Jesus Christ as Lord. He was born with a deformed heart and wasn’t expected to live long, but after giving his life to Christ in April 1933, Kenneth E Hagin encountered God.
On the 8th of August, 1934, Kenneth E Hagin was raised from his deathbed through the revelation of “Faith in the Word of God.” He was healed of paralysis and could walk normally.

The school has campuses all over the world and continues to expand. He was convinced that, if it happened again, he would not return. Through his emphasis on teaching the power of faith to claim healing and prosperity, he became a pioneer of the Word of Faith movement. Rev. Hagin’s son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth W. and Lynette Hagin, cohost Rhema Praise, a weekly television program; Rhema for Today, a weekday radio program; and Living Faith Crusades held around the world.
That magazine, now produced nine times a year, has a circulation of over 200,000. The doctor confirmed that he could find nothing wrong with the boy’s heart. Since its beginning, the Word of Faith movement has been under constant criticism from leading evangelicals who consider its teachings dangerous, unbiblical, and even heretical.
