Lucado was born on January 11, 1955 in San Angelo, Texas, the youngest of four children to Jack and Thelma Lucado. In 1994, Lucado became the only author to have 11 of his 12 books in print simultaneously appear on paperback, hardcover and children’s CBA bestseller lists.
