G.) DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR

Dr Jadhav has currently been serving as DistinguishedProfessor, Council for Social Development (CSD), New Delhi with focused research on the New Education Policy for India.

His contribution to formulation of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme and developing the eco-system for Skills Development in India has been recognised. Other reports authored by Jadhav include Farmers' Suicides (Government of Maharashtra 2008), Development Needs of the Ladakh Region (Ministry of Home Affairs, 2011) and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) (Government of India, 2013).

From April 2016, Dr Jadhav has been nominated as a member of parliament (MP) in Rajya Sabha.

Jadhav, has written or edited 37 books in three languages – 19 in English, 13 in Marathi, and 5 in Hindi, besides over 300 research papers and articles.

He also worked as Adviser in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for over four years. In addition, he has also been serving as a Member, National Advisory Council (NAC) chaired by Smt Sonia Gandhi. He has written or edited 21 books on Dr Ambedkar – nine in English, eight in Marathi and four in Hindi comprising an intellectual biography, picture biographies edited speeches, and writings of Dr Ambedkar.

Dr Jadhav took voluntary retirement in October 2008 from the position of Principal Adviser and Chief Economist of the RBI in the rank of Executive Director.

Responding to the long standing demand, this intellectual biography of Dr Ambedkar has been written in the belief that understanding Dr Ambedkar, in his true spirit, is indeed a need of the hour.

Narendra Jadhav is a well-known economist, public speaker and a social worker. All these books are standard sources of reference for advanced study in most Universities in India.
