Yangyang Cheng is a Research Scholar in Law and Fellow at Yale Law School’s Paul Tsai China Center, where her work focuses on the development of science and technology in China and U.S.-China relations. It was a rare occasion for Cheng — her mother usually did not allow her to watch TV — and she immediately took a liking to one of the characters: Zhuge Liang, a military strategist with magical powers.
