Lakshman Narayan was offered to play the leading role in Bharathiraja's romantic drama film Annakodi (2013), portraying a villager opposite Karthika Nair.[2] Playing the titular role of Kodiveeran, before the film changed its name, the project went through several changes in cast and script and took two years to make.
