Then, at age ten, he was allowed to enter French military schools for aristocrats and was sent in 1779, with his older brother Joseph, to the College of Autun in Burgundy, France. He defeated them at the Battle of Austerlitz on December 2, 1805. When he was born, the island was ruled by the King of France. He was a general, a commander, a dictator, an emperor, a hero, and a villain.

Lack of supplies, cold weather, and disease led to the deaths of five hundred thousand of Napoleon's troops. He returned to Paris and stepped down for a second time on June 22. Some people believe Napoleon should not have left his soldiers in Egypt. This son was the heir to the Bonaparte family. Napoleon also restored harmony between the Roman Catholic Church and the French government.

He started to agree with those who hated the king.

By 1802 the popular Napoleon was given the position of first consul for life, with the right to name his replacement. However, the country was out of money, and the government (the Directory) was unpopular. Sure, he did some terrible things. And the whole country was now very unhappy with Robespierre.

Napoleon was now labeled as a villain, too, and he was put on house arrest.

These included the Kingdom of Westphalia, ruled by his youngest brother Jerome, and the Duchy of Warsaw.

Major Defeats

The Congress of Erfurt aimed to keep the alliance between Russia and France. Some people even wanted a king back. But his army became weak from bubonic plague and lack of supplies. He also greatly reduced the size of Prussia.
