Salt March: This iconic protest challenged the British salt monopoly and showcased the power of non-violence. As a soldier in the East India Company’s army’s 34th Bengal Native Infantry (BNI) regiment, he led the sepoy mutiny, which eventually led to the 1857 uprising. Born in 1907 in Punjab, his revolutionary spirit was ignited by the death of Lala Lajpat Rai at the hands of British police.
