During this period of her life, she would meet many Presidents and increase her activism.

We love this beautiful portrait of Ms. Keller in her early 20's. she campaigned for women's suffrage, labour rights, socialism, antimilitarism, and other similar causes.

She would die in 1968 at the old age of 87. Over time, the recurring irritation and scarring of the cornea caused vision loss and necessitated several rounds of surgery throughout her life.
Anne Sullivan was the child of immigrants who left Ireland during the Great Famine. A selection of these images are also included in our other Helen Keller galleries.
