Teaching US History using Engaging Biography Projects

Teaching US history can feel like a daunting task.

George Washington: Hero or Hype?

The George Washington Body Biography Project invites students to take a fresh look at one of the most iconic figures in American history.

Students begin by reading through the provided informational text, which comes in Google Doc format and can easily be translated if needed! How did he/she become well known? Attach the hanger to the back of the shoulder area with tape. One of the most impactful ways to help students connect with historical content is by focusing on the people who shaped it.

Part 3: Oral Presentation Overall preparedness presenter …….10 pts. Each project includes student-friendly templates, clear instructions, rubrics, and both print and digital formats. Thomas Paine was one of the most influential voices of the American Revolution. From military leadership to his presidency, and even his role as a slaveholder.

PART 2: Visual Representation ** Your visual representation of your founding father must be in the form of either a “hanger person” or a “bottle person”. Cut out the body outline completely. Describe the person’s adult life.
