After earning two degrees from Stanford University, Wu spent time as a research diver at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in the Republic of Panama while he was earning his master's degree.

Education

He was named "Outstanding Photographer of the Year" for 2004 by the North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA), the highest honor an American nature photographer can be given by his peers.

      Norbert Wu Productions films, directs, and produces documentaries, films, and commercials. He is a son of an aeronautics professor.

      Our films include a pioneering high-definition television (HDTV) program on Antarctica’s underwater world for Thirteen/WNET New York's Nature series that airs on PBS.

      Under Antarctic Ice was awarded a Gold Plaque in the area of Special Achievement: Cinematography from the Chicago International Television Competition. Wu later went on to pursue doctoral studies at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in La Jolla, California. Norbert Wu and his crew can serve in a variety of capacities, ranging from cameramen to producing and directing commercials or full-length documentaries.

      Norbert Wu is an American photographer, illustrator, diver, cinematographer and author.

      Moving Pictures of New York is planning a television series based on his work: The Adventures of Norbert Wu.

      Just as he has shared what he has learned about life underwater, Wu has revealed some of the techniques that he uses when he takes and sells photographs. The next year he exhibited photos at Stanford, winning an "Our-World-Underwater" scholarship in 1986.
