Each play in the cycle considers an important moment in the life of the main character, beginning with childhood in rural Western Massachusetts, and then progressing through college, coming to terms with her sexual identity, and onto adulthood. It had the goal of creating a full production for each author. Her ten-minute play, Dinner, is published in a collection called Not So Sweet, sixteen plays from Soho Repertory Theatre’s Ten-Minute Play Festival.

She is an alumnus of New Dramatists and a member of 13P, Labyrinth Theater Company and Rising Phoenix Rep. She got to spend time with Sundance Theatre at UCROSS in Wyoming. The Insurgents was produced at Labyrinth Theater Company and Contemporary Ameri-can Theater Festival.

Lindenhurst’s South Shore Theatre Experience will present Where We’re Born, Lucy Thurber’s gripping and intimate drama exploring identity, class, and sexual politics. She has written screenplays for Debra Granik, Rachel Weisz and Maven and has developed work with FX, HBO, Nanette Burstein, Sarah Paulson and Lena Dunham.

The Hearth announced the World Premiere of Kallan Dana's RACECAR RACECAR RACECAR, directed by Sarah Blush, running December 2-22 at the Connelly Theater. Her play, Bottom of the World, opened the 2010–2011 season at The Atlantic Theater Company, and was produced by WET in the winter of 2005 and was previously workshopped at The Eugene O’Neill Playwrights’ Center.

She received a Lilly Award in 2010.

SAY GAY PLAYS Will Have a Benefit Reading at NYU Skirball Next Month

Voyage Theater Company will present SAY GAY PLAYS, an evening of queer theater to benefit New Alternatives For Homeless LGBT Youth on Monday, May 13 at NYU Skirball. Also in 2001, she was commissioned by The Keene Theater Company to write a short piece called The Kool-Aid Smile, which was presented in “Keene America.”

Thurber was a guest artist at the Perseverance Theatre twice, where she helped to adapt both Moby-Dick and Desire Under the Elms.
