He painted a famous series of works depicting the Grand Canal, and other notable works such as the “Pieta” and “San Giorgio Maggiore”. Caffi was highly skilled in creating intricate details and textures, often using gold, silver, and pearl to bring out incredible depth in his artworks. Caffi was especially renowned for his Grand Canal series, which depicted the bustling city of Venice from the perspective of a gondolier.

However, the wealth of stimuli that this frenetic activity entails does not seem to have led to particular changes in his way of painting.
