First Folio

Although some of Shakespeare’s works were printed in his lifetime, not all were. She joined the staff in October 2022 and most recently worked as an editor for Popular Mechanics, Runner’s World, and Bicycling.
Scholars call this period Shakespeare’s lost years, and there is wide speculation about what he was doing during this period. The other is a memorial bust at Holy Trinity Church in Stratford.
Today, there are 235 surviving copies of the First Folio that date back to 1623, but experts estimate roughly 750 First Folios were printed.
Among these are Pericles, Cymbeline, The Winter’s Tale, and The Tempest. Initially, he was an actor and eventually devoted more and more time to writing.
Records show that Shakespeare, who was also a company shareholder, had works published and sold as popular literature. As the records do not exist, we do not know how long William may have attended the school, but the literary quality of his works suggests a solid educational foundation.
He had three younger brothers and two younger sisters: Gilbert, Joan, Anne, Richard, and Edmund. There is also rumor of Shakespeare working as an assistant schoolmaster in Lancashire for a time, though this is circumstantial at best.
It is estimated that Shakespeare arrived in London around 1588 and began to establish himself as an actor and playwright.
By 1592, there is evidence Shakespeare earned a living as an actor and a playwright in London and possibly had several plays produced. Their twins, a son named Hamnet and a daughter named Judith, soon followed in February 1585. In 1623, two working companions of Shakespeare from the Lord Chamberlain's Men, John Heminges and Henry Condell, printed the First Folio edition of his collected plays, of which half were previously unpublished.
William Shakespeare's legacy is a body of work that will never again be equaled in Western civilization.
Never before had a playwright enjoyed sufficient acclaim to see his works published and sold as popular literature in the midst of his career. He had plays published and sold in octavo editions, or "penny-copies" to the more literate of his audiences.
What Happened to Shakespeare’s Son, Hamnet?
In the summer of 1596, Shakespeare’s only son died at just 11 years old.
Young William was born of John Shakespeare, a glover and leather merchant, and Mary Arden, a landed local heiress. Even in death, he leaves a final piece of verse as his epitaph:
Good friend, for Jesus' sake forbeare
To dig the dust enclosed here.
Blessed be the man that spares these stones,
And cursed be he that moves my bones.
