He is currently the co-owner and CourseDirector for the Certificate in Quantitative Finance, a half year distancelearningcourse on mathematicalfinance at Fitch Learning, a London-based companyprovidingtraining for the financialservices industry. He then went on to work on mathematicalmodelling for variousindustriesbeforegoing into quantitative finance.
Paul Wilmott is a researcher, author, consultant, lecturer and expert witness working in risk management, derivatives and most things quantitative in finance. He also has three half blues from Oxford University for Ballroom Dancing. He makes his own cheese. He founded the Diploma in MathematicalFinance at Oxford University; and the journalAppliedMathematical Finance.

He also founded Wilmott Magazine and a successful volatility arbitrage hedge fund and the world’s largest, high-level quant education programme, the Certificate in Quantitative Finance.At the age of 41 he finally won a sandcastle-building competition. He is the creator of the Certificate in Quantitative Finance, cqf.com, and the President of the CQF Institute, cqfinstitutte.org.
Paul Wilmott was a founding partner of the volatility arbitrage hedge fund Caissa Capital which managed $170 million. He has written over 100 research articles on finance and mathematics. He came second to last in a poetry-reading contest. He was an expert on a TV show, tasked with forecasting a royal baby name and the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest among other things.

And he plays the ukulele. Obviously.

He has written over 100 research papers in mathematics and finance, and several best-selling – and some would say ground-breaking – text books including: “Paul Wilmott On Quantitative Finance”, “Paul Wilmott Introduces Quantitative Finance” and “Frequently Asked Questions in Quantitative Financ”e.
Paul founded the website “Wilmott”, which presents the very latest thinking in derivatives, risk modelling and quantitative techniques and brings together both academics and practitioners to further develop these ideas.
Its flavour has been described as challenging.
Paul was the first man in the UK to get an online divorce. He is a foundingpartner of Caissa Capital, a volatilityarbitragehedge fund. He has worked with many leading US and European financial institutions.
