Background
Khonsari was born in Montreal, Quebec, and was raised in his homeland Iran until 10. He left for Canada after the 1979 Revolution with his family. Other acclaimed projects include HERO (a multisensory VR experience of civilian warfare in Syria), Blindfold, and Fire Escape. Khonsari’s latest project, Lili—a hybrid screenlife video game and live-action film presently in production—premiered at Cannes as the first video game in competition.
Ink studios is presently completing a graphic novel titled Bedouin and in development on a new game franchise titled 1979 The Game, based on the events surrounding the Iran Revolution.

In 2006, he left Rockstar Games and has since worked on a number of games including Alan Wake and Homefront.He co-founded iNK Stories and produced another award winning documentary, "Pulling John", which premiered at South by Southwest.
His first short film was titled "Arcade Angels", which focused on video game burnouts who robbed a video rental store in an attempt to open an arcade.

Navid Khonsari is an Iranian–Canadian video game, film and graphic novel writer, director and producer.

He met his wife, Vassiliki, while directing the award-winning documentary Pindemonium. At iNK Stories, Khonsari pioneered “Verité Games,” blending documentary and interactive storytelling.
