Further recital performances in 2013-2014 saw him amongst others at Zürich’s Tonhalle, at the Berlin Philharmonie and London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. In spring 2019 he was appointed professor of piano at his alma mater, the University of Music, Theatre, and Media, in Hanover.

In recognition of his political commitment, Mr.

Levit was awarded the 5th International Beethoven Prize in 2019, followed by the award of the “Statue B” of the International Auschwitz Committee in January 2020. Orchestral debuts await with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra (Heras-Casado) and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (Roger Norrington) as well as with the HR-Sinfonieorchester (Andrew Manze) and the Bayerischer Rundfunk Symphonieorchester (Bringuier).

Two years later, in 2004, he was promoted to the role of First Vice President, further solidifying his position within the organization.

CEO of LSR Group

In 2006, Igor Levit was appointed as the CEO of LSR Group, one of the largest real estate development companies in Russia. Previously, he had won the First Prize of the International Hamamtsu Piano Academy Competition in Japan.

Mr. Levit was the youngest participant in the 2005 International Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv, where he won silver, the special prize for chamber music, the audience prize, and the special prize for the best performance of contemporary pieces. In June 2022 his album OnDSCH received the Recording of the Year Award as well as the Instrumental Award from BBC Music Magazine.

Levit’s highly acclaimed recording of the 32 Beethoven sonatas received the Gramophone Artist of the Year Award and the Opus Klassik. In spring 2021 Hanser published Mr. Levit’s first book, House Concert, co-authored by Florian Zinnecker. Only four days earlier on March 12, 2014, Levit made his New York City recital debut at the Park Avenue Armory to effusive reviews both by The New Yorker and The New Times.

He has studied under the tutelage of Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Matti Raekallio, Bernd Goetze, Lajos Rovátkay and Hans Leygraf. As youngest participant in 2005 Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv, he won the Silver Prize, the Prize for Best Performer of Chamber Music, the "Audience Favorite" Prize and the Prize for Best Performer of Contemporary Music.

Under his leadership, the company has experienced significant growth and success, expanding its presence in the market and launching numerous high-profile projects.

Financial Success

Levit's astute business decisions and strategic investments have not only propelled LSR Group forward but also contributed to his personal financial success. In October 2020 Mr.

Levit was recognized with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. In spring 2015 Levit returns to the Heidelberger Frühling in his capacity of the Festival’s Chamber Music Academy’s Artistic Director and makes recital debuts with Washington’s Performing Arts Society and The Gilmore in Michigan. .

In Berlin, where he makes his home, he plays on a Steinway Model D piano kindly given to him by the Trustees of Independent Opera at Sadler’s Wells.
