Despite the challenges of balancing his burgeoning music and acting careers, Ice-T has maintained a strong commitment to fatherhood. He submerged in the street life of the inner-city and later joined the West Side Rollin 30s Original Harlem Crips.

Marrow joined the Army in 1979 but his 4-year snag was more than enough for him.

More than music, his initial life was spent in streets and was involved as a pimp and as a jewel thief. 

As a musician, Ice-T played the chief role in the formation of the gangsta existence of hip-hop music and was a giant player of the West Coast hip-hop scene, despite his original origins of greater New York in East Coast.

Though never affiliated with an actual gang, Ice-T associated himself with The Crips as a teen.

In 2000, Ice-T landed his most significant and enduring role as Detective Odafin "Fin" Tutuola on NBC's "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit." His portrayal of a seasoned detective tackling complex cases of sexual assault and child exploitation has garnered critical acclaim and solidified his place in television history.

He has often spoken about the importance of being a role model for his children, emphasizing the lessons learned from his own life experiences. They starred in the Ice Loves Coco reality television series. Ice-T’s early life was plagued with tragedy, as experienced racism at a boy and losing his mother to a heart attack when he was in third grade.

He made his film debut in "New Jack City" (1991), where he played a police officer battling drug lords, a role that resonated with his experiences and the themes of his music. His ability to adapt and evolve within the entertainment industry showcases his diverse talents and understanding of market trends, contributing to his ongoing financial gain.

In 1987, he released his debut album, "Rhyme Pays," which quickly established him as a pioneer in the rap genre.
