Suzy Nakamura to be Featured in Reading of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF at The Pasadena Playhouse
by Julie Musbach - Mar 10, 2017
The Pasadena Playhouse (Danny Feldman, Producing Artistic Director) continues it FOUR BY TENN: A TENNESSEE WILLIAMS READING SERIES in celebration of Tennessee Williams with CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF.
With powerful lyrics and an electrifying pop-rock score of more than 30 songs, this intense, emotional and ultimately hopeful musical aims right for the heart with its story of a family coming to terms with its past and bravely facing its future. Seeing this show isn’t cheap, and it’s likely that the income bracket of the characters onstage is nowhere near that of those in the audience.
The songs that hold up best come from James Taylor.

According to our records, is possibly single. It runs through June 6.
Many of Working’s original 18 songs were written by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked), but what feels like an earnest attempt to bring the show into the new millennium makes it feel wildly out of touch with workers today.
We meet characters like Lovin’ Al, an effervescent parking valet, and Dolores, a saucy waitress, distinct and enjoyable figures taken from Terkel’s original reporting.
One of them, “Delivery,” is a catchy up-tempo tune about a young man working at a fast-food restaurant. The movie is set to makes its World Premiere on June 1, 2013 at the Dances With Films film festival in Hollywood, CA. Check out the official poster below!
