In 1932, while attending Vassar College, Love received her commercial pilot’s license and earned money transporting people from Poughkeepsie, New York to various airports in the Northeast. In 1968, she began traveling full-time leading the Victory Voices. In 1979, three years after Love’s death, the WASPs became officially recognized as service members.

Biography
Nancy Harmon was born and raised in Warrensburg, Missouri. One day, Love took her brother on a flight around a nearby school. Among other things, this means you may not accept rides with male pilots.” The WAFS faced criticism from the media and male pilots, and Love strove to improve the reputation of the WAFS.
Love’s strength and leadership contributed to the success of the WASPs and the pilot careers of women. She continued to fly her family from their home to the mainland when needed.
Love was the first woman to pilot almost all of the Army Air Force’s high-performance, combat planes. “Weaving the Stories of Women’s Lives: Lt. Col. Nancy H. Love.” March 13, 2015.
Her soulful style and unique songwriting won her way into the hearts of many fans over the course of her career. Cochran became director of the WASP, and Love became the executive in the Air Transport Command division. National Archives and Records Administration
An accomplished pilot and leader, Nancy Harkness Love was an early supporter of women’s equal involvement in military service.
Robert mentioned this to his boss, Col. William Tunner (Commander of the Air Transport Command Ferrying Division). After 36 years in Texas, she made her final move to Cleveland, Tennessee.
The funeral service will be officiated by her dear friend, Bishop Tim Hill, Church of God Overseer for the State of Tennessee.
