This seems like it could be better than Project Runway, since there is much more going on than just sitting in a room and sewing a dress! He also starred on other shows on HGTV including "Color Splash" and "My Lottery Dream Home," which had an unusual journey to success.
All the rest are so much better than Bromstead and have more personality.

David Bromstead is really boring on his show (don't know how he got renewed, but then again, I turn him off when his show comes on). I watched most of the first season and thought I would vomit if Martha McCully gushed at David Bromstead's naked chest just one more time. . The designers get one "white box" challenge in the beginning and then work in teams the rest of the season.
HGTV DESIGN STAR made me want to pack up my life in Oz and move to the States.

Strong Show, Makes Design Interesting!
I am not a fan of design shows (paint-dry TV), and I am very picky about my reality competition shows, but this one seems to be good for fans of either type of show.
At least HGTV got wise and hired real interior designers this season.

It seems HGTV isn't willing to put out the money to showcase each of the designers until the very last challenge. Also known as Alice Ann Fakier.
