She has an elder sister Meenakshi Jha Bhattacharya and a younger brother Shashank Jha.She did her schooling from Modern Indian School in Kathmandu, Nepal & Laxman Public School in New Delhi and later completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi.Sriti Jha was first seen in the music video of Falguni Pathak's O Piya (2001).
In 2004, during her college days at Venkateswara College, she joined an English dramatics society "Verbum" and later became the president of Verbum.
