Biography of Mykola Amosov
Mykola Amosov was born on December 6, 1913, in Poltava.
His scientific works remain a foundation for many studies in the field of cardiac surgery and medical science in general. Amosov was elected as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of USSR of five convocations. His scientific work in the development of cardiac surgery saved thousands of lives, and his innovative methods in heart surgery laid the foundation for modern cardiac surgery.
One of Mykola Amosov’s greatest achievements was the establishment of the first clinic for cardiovascular disease treatment in the USSR.
