• On June 30, 2012, she won Miss China World 2012 at the Jinhai Lake Resort in Beijing, China.
• On August 18, 2012, she represented China at Miss World 2012 and competed against 115 other candidates at the Dongsheng Fitness Center Stadium in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, China.

  She said: “When I was young I felt very lucky because so many people helped me and I hope in the future, I can help more children to feel lucky.”
  
  By far during her reign of Miss World, Wenxia had traveled to China, United Kingdom, South Africa and France. She became the second titleholder from her country, after Zhang Zilin of China in 2007.

  She has always loved music and singing and started singing classes at the age of 8.

  Bookmakers had tipped Miss Mexico, 20-year-old Mariana Reynoso, for the crown, but Miss China was also seen as a leading contender along with Miss Nepal.
