Born in Moscow, Maria Yusefovna AlKasas came to Sri Lanka when she was a year old.

18) One of the happiest days of my life was when I won Miss Sri Lanka Online. Whenever I’m not modelling or busy with Miss Sri Lanka Online I like to hang out with my buddies.

Although Educated at the Buddhist Girls School in Mount Lavinia she is a devout catholic and she went on to earn her London A/levels at the British Council.

10) I am very much a girly girl, I love to go shopping for shoes, handbags, clothes, makeup…much to the distress of my boyfriend.

12) I am an outdoors girl, I love to go for hikes in exotic locations all around our beautiful country.
13) I find travelling in public transport in Sri Lanka exciting, ever since I was little I have loved standing in the middle of a three wheeler with a family member holding me up while it sped through the traffic.

Although facing tough competition in the maiden virtual pageant which saw thousands applying from across the island, Maria charmed voters with her exotic beauty and charming personality.
Coming from a family with mixed heritage, her mother has Sri Lankan and Russian parentage, while her father is a syrian arab; has given her a unique blend of striking features that surely stood out from other contestants.
She starts her morning with a fruit juice and a vegetable salad, and have 6 to 7 small meals a day.

1) I love listening to my sister talk in Sinhala, she sounds so cute when she pronounces certain words so I purposely speak to her in Sinhala and have a little chuckle to myself when she replies.
2) The first thing I think about in the morning is breakfast, there is nothing better than the smell of traditional Russian food early in the morning.
She is fluent in Sinhala, Russian and English !
She will be representing Sri Lanka for Miss Tourism Queen International in Wenzhou, China with the finals to be held on November 9th, 2015.
Tall, petite and absolutely gorgeous, it came as no surprise to anyone when 21 year old Maria Al-Kansas bagged the title of Miss Seri Sri Lanka Online 2012.
I go for a one hour walk at least 3 times a week.
8) Because I walk and exercise regularly I like to indulge now and then. It was my dream from a young age to model and one day win a title, winning Miss Sri Lanka Online made my dream come true.

22) My Grandmother gives me cooking lessons, I still cannot cook as well as her but I’m getting there.
23) My two favourite products from that range is the Green Tea Face-Wash and Face Scrub because it leaves my skin feeling soft, supple and radiant.
