Throughout her childhood, she had the privilege of growing up with a sister named Keerthi Kumari and a brother named Dhananjay. Madhavi’s passion for dance ignited at a young age as she began learning Bharat Natyam from Uma Maheswari and folk dance from Bhatt.
Her dedication and talent led her to showcase her skills in over a thousand mesmerizing dance performances.
She acted with famous stars in films directed by great film directors. She moved to New Jersey, USA and assists her husband in the pharmaceutical business. Her portrayal of a mother who passes away from leukemia in Akashadoothu earned her the 1993 Filmfare Award for Best Actress as well as the Kerala State Film Award for Second Best Actress.
Though she started her career acting in Telugu (her mother tongue), because of her talent and flair for languages she went on to act in six other languages: Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Oriya, Bengali and Malayalam. She has appeared in over 300 movies over the course of a nearly two-decade career and was recognized as one of the top actresses in South Indian cinema in the 1980s.
Madhavi was born to Sasirekha and Govindaswamy in Eluru, India.
She appeared in the critically acclaimed film Khaidi once more alongside Chiranjeevi. She was then given a supporting part in K. Balachander’s 1978 Telugu movie Maro Charitra. Ormakkayi, Changatham, Novemberinte Nashtam, and Nombarathi Poovu are other movies.
Her Hindu spiritual guide Swami Rama set up her marriage to Ralph Sharma, a pharmaceutical industry executive, in 1996.
Intlo Ramayya Veedhilo Krishnayya, her debut film with Chiranjeevi, came out in 1982. I was like Ekalavya, quietly watching them and learning.
Big Boss, another Chiranjeevi film, was her final Telugu feature. I am blessed to have had an opportunity to act in some movies and roles which are remembered and appreciated even now by today’s generation, after three decades!

Personal Life
Madhavi’s union with Ralph Sharma came about because of her relationship with Swami Rama, a spiritual leader and mentor to Ralph. Having encountered Swami Rama at the Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy when he was 32, Ralph developed a connection with him.
Subsequently, in 1995, Madhavi also had the opportunity to meet Swami Rama. Eventually, their association led to their marriage on February 14, 1996. Madhavi and Ralph reside in New Jersey, along with their three daughters.
Madhavi expressed her happiness and fulfillment in an interview in 2006, stating that she is happily married and finds joy as a wife and mother of three children named Evelyn Sharma. Priscilla Sharma and Tiffany Sharma Additionally, she mentioned being satisfied with her choice to leave the acting industry and emphasized that she doesn’t feel any longing for it.
