Completing secondary school education and maintaining physical activity linked to relative biological youth. Cumulatively, our findings provide a detailed compositional and structural mapping of the ageing brain endothelial glycocalyx layer and reveal important consequences of ageing- and disease-associated glycocalyx dysregulation on BBB integrity and brain health.

    Abstract

The clinical course and treatment of neurodegenerative disease are complicated by immune-system interference and chronic inflammatory processes, which remain incompletely understood.

Organ age estimates are associated with future onset of heart failure (heart age HR=1.83), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (lung age HR=1.39), type II diabetes (kidney age HR=1.58), and Alzheimer's disease (brain age HR=1.81) and sensitive to lifestyle factors such as smoking and exercise, hormone replacement therapy, or supplements.

Age and sex were associated with differential expression of NULISAseq targets linked to neurodegeneration, microglial activation, and inflammation. Myelination requires dramatic cytoskeletal dynamics in oligodendrocytes, but how actin is regulated during myelination is poorly understood. Shakespeare was baptised on 26th April, 1564.

  • Wife:Anne Hathaway (married 1582).
  • Children: Susanna (born 1583), Hamnet and Judith (twins, born 1585).
  • Resided: Born and raised in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

While many details surrounding the life of William Shakespeare remain unclear, scholars believe he was born around April 26, 1564, in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, a market town some 100 miles from London. It is likely that he visited London for some of these first performances, most probably those of The Tempest and The Winter’s Tale, which were performed to King James.

On June 29th, 1613 Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre was burnt down.

We then screen this panel in an in vitro transcriptomic assay to identify metabolites that perturb genes linked to age-related neurodegeneration. Altogether, these findings support the use of plasma proteins for monitoring of organ health and point to the brain and immune systems as key targets for longevity interventions.

    Abstract

Microglial tiling-the phenomenon of consistent cell-to-cell distances and non-overlapping processes-is regarded as a qualitative indicator of homeostasis, but mechanisms of microglial tiling are unknown.

    Abstract

More than 57 million people globally suffer from neurodegenerative diseases, a figure expected to double every 20 years.

Demonstrating the utility of this resource, we discovered that the killifish head kidney exhibits a myeloid bias during aging, a phenomenon more pronounced in females than in males. Regarding cognitive prognosis, CSF YWHAG:NPTX2 predicted conversion from A+T1+ cognitively normal to mild cognitive impairment (standard deviation increase hazard ratio = 3.0, P = 7.0 × 10-4) and A+T1+ mild cognitive impairment to dementia (standard deviation increase hazard ratio = 2.2, P = 8.2 × 10-16) over a 15-year follow-up, adjusting for CSF pTau181:Aβ42, CSF neurofilament, CSF neurogranin, CSF growth-associated protein 43, age, APOE4 and sex.

These proteins are grouped into three stages: early stage (stress response, glutamate metabolism, neuron mitochondrial damage), middle stage (neuronal death, apoptosis), and late presymptomatic stage (microglial changes, cell communication). We then test four metabolites in an acute-exposure mouse model, and use multi-omic approaches to evaluate their impact on cellular functions in the brain.

However, it was through his work as the group’s primary playwright that he found fame. DDC, which catalyzes the final step in dopamine synthesis, particularly stands out as a novel hit with a compelling mechanistic link to PD pathogenesis.
