Dr. Edmond Hajrizi, born on August 27, 1971, in Lipjan, Kosovo, is an esteemed academic and professional specializing in complex systems management, engineering, and education.
Along with prestigious international awards such as "European Young Entepreneurial University of the Year" (2023), ranking 6th in the world in terms of applications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution as well as ranking among the top 100 best universities in the world for Real Impact by WURI, earlier this year UBT was ranked among the Top 200 best Universities in the world for the fight against Climate Change by the GreenMetric World University Ranking 2023.
Prof. Dr. Hajrizi's educational background includes a Graduate Degree in Engineering, a Master of Science in Advanced Automation Technology, and a Doctorate in System Management from Vienna University of Technology (2000). In his current role as the Head of the Institute for Urban Studies & Spatial Planning and Lead of Sustainability Operations at UBT in Kosovo, Shqiprim has led different working group in the process of designing university’s strategic document addressing sustainability, as such as the Institutional Strategy for Addressing and Promoting SDG-s, Institutional Action Plan for a Smart and Carbon-Neutral Campus etc.
He has contributed extensively to the development of smart and sustainable innovation ecosystems, led numerous EU-funded projects, and served as a consultant to international organizations including the World Bank and the European Commission. It has become a central player in Kosovo's economy, significantly contributing to the job market and individual sectors.
