H.H. From Böpa Tulku Dongak Tenpe Nyima I received such teachings as his commentary on his own Distinguishing the Views and Tenets and his Oral Transmission of the Invincible Maitreya commentary on Prajñāpāramitā. Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche was born in 1936, at Riphu, a place in Derge Jomda, in the Kham Province to Dorje Dhondup and Tse Tso.
When he was eight, he studied reading and writing Tibetan from his uncle Lama Choesang while herding cattle. He has served as one of the three spiritual directors at Tibetan Meditation Center in Frederick, Maryland before coming to Pittsburgh in November 2011. During the big Drubchen puja at Shechen Monastery, Khen Rinpoche received a Khenpo hat from His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche as a great blessing.
Hence his kindness is unfathomable. 38–39

Now I am 67,[1] and am in the process of pretending to teach others and spread the Dharma. Khen Rinpoche has thoroughly studied, researched and mastered the Tibetan Studies that cover the vast and profound teachings of Lord Buddha (both Sutra and Tantra), as well as the common studies of Tibetan language, poetry, and Tibet’s temporal and religious history.
During his tenure, he has wholeheartedly rendered his priceless service without thought of eight worldly concerns and has stayed in the institute all these years, forbearing all hardships for the preservation and dissemination of Buddha’s teaching in general and the Nyingma doctrine in particular. Then, later, I also received a few instructions from Adzom Gyalse Rinpoche.

When Khen Rinpoche came back from Shechen Monastery, he received once more a Khenpo title and doctorate certificate from His Holiness Penor Rinpoche. Among the uncommon traditional studies, he has taught primarily the Thirteen Great Treatises, Jigme Lingpa’s Yonten Dzod (Treasury of Enlightened Qualities), Mipham Rinpoche’s Osel Nyingpo; a commentary to Guhyagarbha Tantra, Longchenpa’s Ngalso Korsum (Trilogy of Resting in the Nature of Mind), Do Tshog Chen Dupa (Sutra that Gathers All Intentions and Great Accumulations), Rongzom Mahapandita’s Thegchen Tsuljug (Entering the Mahayana Path), Mipham Rinpoche’s Gal Len Nam Sum (The Trilogy of Replies to Criticisms) and many other teachings that illustrates the distinct view, meditation, conduct, and fruition of the Nyingma Lineage.
He was the first Khenpo in the Institute of Shechen Monastery in Nepal. He received all the teachings related to Jangter (Northern Treasure Teachings) from H.H. Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche.
Penor Rinpoche has appointed Pema Rinpoche to establish branch centers of the Palyul lineage in Europe
With the blessings of His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, Khen Rinpoche has been teaching and spreading Buddhism in many countries. From the incarnation Namkha Jigme I received The Four Sections of Heart-Essence (Nyingtik Yabzhi) and more.
