Harikrishna Pai, the SP of Kalimpong, will take over the DCP of Kolkata Police's STF.

Kolkata: In a key administrative move, the West Bengal government has announced a reshuffle, assigning new posts to multiple officers of the Indian Police Service (IPS).
Vineet Kumar Goyal appointed new Kolkata Police commissioner
Senior IPS officer Vineet Goyal is the new commissioner of police of Kolkata. Aparajita Roy, Bhola Nath Pande and Y Raghuvanshi will be the SP of Kalingpong , Jalpaiguri and Aliduwarpur Police, respectively. The decision, made public on Saturday, marks a shift in leadership for the region.
Alok Rajoria, the former Commissioner, has been reassigned as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic for West Bengal Police.
The recommended transfers were routine ones, the sources said. While Vineet Kumar Goyal IPS will be the new commissioner of police of Kolkata, Gyanwant Singh IPS , ADG CID will look after the additional charge of ADG STF, WB.
The present DIG Malda Praveen Kumar Tripathi has been promoted as Additional commissioner of police of Kolkata while Sukesh Jain IPS has been elevated to the post of DIG of the state of traffic police.
Alok Rajoria, the present IPS SP of Malda, has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Malda.
The Board, at a meeting held in the state secretariat, proposed shifting Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore Commissionerate, Ajay Kumar Thakur, to the post of DIG, Civil Defence.
DIG, Burdwan range, Alok Rajoria, a 2008 batch IPS officer, was recommended for taking over as the new CP of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, the notification said.

It said that the name of DIG, Civil Defence, Shyam Singh, was proposed for the new DIG, Burdwan range.
While Thakur is a 2006 batch IPS officer, Singh belongs to the 2007 batch.
The officers will be transferred following due process, a source in the state secretariat Nabanna said. In this reshuffle, Alok Rajoria assumes the role of DIG Traffic, while Raj Narayan Mukherjee is appointed Commandant of the SAP 2nd Battalion.
