“What I love about this place,” he says, “is that it’s quite centrally located, but still in the middle of a rice field. It’s the rare kind of place that asks nothing of you but presence. We always hope for new surprises, new challenges, always something new.”
The KTZ label, too, takes its multicultural inspiration from its founders’ travels, largely in the form of indigenous designs and ethnographic references.
“I love Bali cliffs and the views,” Pejoski says. The lighting: also designed + created with utter genius — sculptural pieces that feel almost celestial, casting a glow that transforms space into atmosphere. It gives you a space for being within yourself.
KTZ A/W 09
It seems that after being established for so long, KTZ, in-house label of cult fashion emporium Kokon To Zai is finally getting the platform it deserves, having secured New Gen sponsorship for their A/W 09 collection, "Future Ghost Tribal".
“It gives us a playground to do other things apart from just fashion,” he says. The rest of the time, they’re based in London, where they operate another KTZ studio and hybrid music-and-fashion shop Kokon to Zai, the latter of which they opened in the city’s Soho neighborhood in the mid-’90s. Here, beauty is not decoration; it’s devotion.
Bali, though a home base, is just one of my places that influence them. To truly feel something. The space includes nine massage and beauty treatment rooms (three for couples), head outdoor hydrotherapy pools, a yoga studio and pavilion, a Pilates studio, and an outdoor jungle gym. A place where you can remember that creativity is not an accessory to life — it is life.
The label creates a dynamic combination of contrasting elements: modernity and the ancestral, the secular and the religious, anarchy and severity, spectacle and depth.
KTZ will present its Spring-Summer 2015 menswear collection during the London Collections: Men, which will be held from 15th to 17th of June 2014 in the UK.

For KTZ Founders Bali Is an Inspiration, an Escape, and a Home
Bali served as the second, more relaxed home base of eclectic international fashion label KTZ.

Bali may seem like an unlikely location for the operations of a global fashion enterprise.
The air hums faintly with sound — sometimes ambient, sometimes ritualistic — while objets, garments, + sculptural forms line the space in quiet dialogue with one another, not forgetting their three little pugs who greet you.
An antique sign outside of the Notting Hill location reads: “Universal Providers.” It’s an apt metaphor for the duo’s lifestyle, as well as the store itself, which is situated in a former butcher shop dating back to a central ago.

There are places in London that hold a certain electricity — not loud or obvious, just quietly charged, alive with creative pulse. Golborne Road is definitely one of them for me.
For the fashion label’s founders, their escape is the Island of Bali – the source of much of the line’s creation. But for Marjan Pejoski and Sasko Bezovski, who co-founded the label KTZ (Kokon to Zai) in 2003, it’s exactly that.
