Eba was born in Cairo, received her schooling in Kuwait, Britain and Switzerland, and did her medical school training at the Universities of Kuwait, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Cambridge before coming to the US.
Her postgraduate medical training institutions included the University of Southern California and the University of California at Irvine and at Los Angeles (UCLA). She graduated with honors in 1985.
