Responsive Law is proud to announce that Constandinos "Deno" Himonas has become president of its board of directors.

Responsive Law recognizes the need and is all about making sure that change happens.”

NCTDR FELLOWS
Justice Constandinos “Deno” Himonas was appointed to the Utah Supreme Court in February 2015.
His practice focuses on technology, consumer products and life sciences companies in Utah. Prior to his appointment, he served as a trial court judge for over 10 years. He currently serves on the Utah Judicial Council, as the Chair of the Supreme Court’s task force for Licensed Paralegal Practitioners and the Chair of the Judicial Council’s task force on Online Dispute Resolution, as well as on a number of national groups.
And he is currently deeply involved in efforts aimed at reimagining how the legal profession is regulated in the United States. Utah Supreme Court Justice Deno Himonas will join the office upon his retirement from the bench in March 2022. He executes financings and liquidity events each year for early- to late-stage private companies as well as venture capital firms.
Squires most recently worked at the firm’s Seattle office. He graduated from Brigham Young University Law School. “As a Utah Supreme Court justice, he showed the country that changing how legal services are regulated can make legal help more affordable without sacrificing quality.”

The office also will include Wilson Sonsini partners Marc Porter and Matt Squires.Upon graduating from law school, he returned to Utah and spent 15 years working as a litigator, focusing on complex civil litigation. He served as a trial court judge in Utah for 10 years before his appointment to the Utah Supreme Court in 2015. Millions of consumers lack adequate access to legal advice, meaning they lack access to justice.
Head of the firm’s Latin America practice, Squires has experience with both domestic and cross-border venture financings, mergers and acquisitions, and public and private capital markets transactions for clients in technology, software, logistics, clean energy and other industries.
And it’s now painfully clear that a pro bono approach, while laudable, is just not enough to bridge the justice gap. Justice Himonas can often be found speaking to local, national, or international audiences on access-to-justice issues.
