Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON, Chairman Board of Advisors. His role as Guardian is to ensure that the Foundation meets its objectives. He bagged a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics in 1981.
Lawyer
Osinbajo had over 31 years of litigation experience before venturing into politics. Timbuktoo’s ambition is to mobilize and invest US$1 billion of catalytic and commercial capital to transform 100 million livelihoods and create 10 million dignified new jobs.
He has also supported the digital and creative economy sectors including through the establishment of a $650m Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (I-DICE) Programme as a partnership between the Nigerian Government and the African Development Bank.

Career
Osinbajo began his career in 1979 as a legal officer with Bendel Development and Planning Authority (BDPA) in the defunct Bendel State during the mandatory one-year youth service.
He is the current Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; a position often referred to as the second citizen of the country. •Conducted corruption perception surveys of the Judiciary as a tool for reform.
From 2007 – 2013
Osinbajo was once again employed as a Professor of Law, at the Department of Public Law, Faculty of Law, University of Lagos.
They have three children.
Education
Osinbajo read Law at the University of Lagos, winning the Graham-Douglas Prize for Commercial Law at graduation from his department. Although born in Lagos, Osinbajo hails from Ogun State.
He attended Corona School, Lagos, for his primary school education.
It was also Tinubu who recommended Osinbajo to President Buhari as his Vice President, as revealed by Bisi Akande, a former Osun State Governor and the first Interim Chairman of the APC in his autobiography entitled: My Participations.
Despite the concerns of going up against the man who gave him his breakthrough in politics, Osinbajo soldiered on.
On the 29th of May 2023, Prof. •Initiated wide-ranging reform in the appointments, discipline and welfare of Judges and Magistrates and new Rules of Court (civil and criminal). He also listed the following properties as his own: a four-bedroom residence at Victoria Garden City, Lagos; a three-bedroom flat at 2, Mosley Road, Ikoyi; a two-bedroom flat along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway; and a two-bedroom mortgaged property in Bedford, England.
Other assets declared are his law firm, known as SimmonsCooper, and shareholding in six private companies based in Lagos, including Octogenerium Ltd., Windsor Grant Ltd., Tarapolsa, Vistorion Ltd., Aviva Ltd., and MTN Nigeria.
Family
Osinbajo got married on November 25, 1989, to his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo (née Soyode).
His passion for assisting the poor and more vulnerable members of society is reflected in his work to successfully introduce Nigeria’s path-breaking Social Investment Programmes, the promotion of girl-child education and the establishment of schools for refugee children.
Three national plan documents have been issued under his leadership including the Economic Sustainability Plan adopted in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
In this capacity, he will be assisting with the next phase of the organisation's growth and mission of unlocking Africa’s potential as a global hub for climate action.
In March, 2024, the Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Foundation, a bold partnership between UNDP, African governments, and the private sector, with the aim to be the world’s largest initiative to support the innovation ecosystem in Africa, appointed Prof.
In his successful professional practice he conducted very important institutional and precedential cases before many courts in the country including the Supreme Court. He has authored several books.
Reform and Charity Work
While in public office as Attorney General, Lagos, Yemi was credited with undertaking far-reaching significant judicial reform in Lagos State, addressing critical areas such as judges' recruitment, remuneration, training and discipline.
Osinbajo distinguished himself in the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of 1973, School Prize for Literature, and African Statesman Intercollegiate Best Speaker’s Prize while in secondary school.
Family
Osinbajo is married to Dolapo, granddaughter of Obafemi Awolowo, former Premier of the Western region.
In June 2023, he co-founded Future Perspectives, a nonprofit that offers a dynamic platform dedicated to shaping a better Africa. In 1980, he attended the London School of Economics & Political Science, where he obtained a Masters of Law degree.
