Oei Hui Lan was a daughter of noted Chinese-Indonesian industrialist Oei Tiong Ham.

Oei Hui-lan was one of two legitimate children, out of a total of 42 acknowledged children, born to the Peranakan Chinese sugar magnate Majoor Oei Tiong Ham.[1]
