On the 25th of October 1956, 49-year-old Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was produced in the district court of Lahore.

During his childhood, his father Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was imporisoned for his political views most of the time. Nations that don’t have a trained army and other resources can achieve their goals only through politics. Achakzai quickly rose through the ranks of the party and became a vocal proponent of provincial autonomy, Pashtun nationalism, and the rights of Balochistan.

In 1973, Achakzai was elected as a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Quetta on the NAP ticket.

He graduated from the University of Engineering and technology, Peshawar as a Mechanical engineer in 1971. PkMAP followed the footsteps of Khan Shaheed and remained a frontline warrior against military martial laws. On December 2, 1973, Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was martyred at his home in Quetta. His father, Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, was a renowned political figure, and this familial lineage has been instrumental in shaping Mehmood Achakzai’s political ideology and career.

Achakzai’s political journey began in the early 1970s when he joined the National Awami Party (NAP), a left-wing political party advocating for the rights of the people of Balochistan and other marginalized groups in Pakistan.

In that feud, more than a hundred close relatives, friends, and tribe fellows of Mahmood Khan Achakzai were killed. Today Pkmap has become the prominent face of Pashtun nationalism in Pakistan. But even if I am no more in this world, many more will come to raise this banner high in exaltation. Mashar Mahmood khan Achakzai was elected its first chairman.

The best electoral performance of PMAP was in 2013 when it managed to win 4 national assembly seats & 10 provincial assembley seats out of 22 seats for the Pashtun districts of Balochistan. PkMAP is the only political party of Pakistan which has not supported any martial law and always opposed interference of military in politics. Khan Shaheed in his autobiography writes, “Oppressed have no other weapon except politics”.

Khan Shaheed Left the Party And Formed Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party.
