As a youth, he was excited by the school of music established by Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana and with his school tuition fees, he left to work and study music Ghana where he played bass guitar with several Highlife bands before returning to Lagos.

When Dele Abiodun left Young Pioneers School of Music, in Accra and having worked there too he came back to Nigeria in 1969 to form his first band Sweet Abbey and the Seven Brothers.

Abiodun made use of ‘Hawaiian steel guitar and claims to have been the first to introduce the instrument to juju music. He arranges his record well. Mensah

                                                                                               The career of ‘Admiral’ Dele Abiodun – born 1948 in Bendel StateNigeria - stratches back to the late sixties.

    Dele Abiodun one of Nigeria’s top juju musicians had his elementary education in Ijebu Ode. He later attended Adeola Odutola College also in Ijebu Ode. He later attended Adeola Odutola College also in Ijebu Ode. While in the fourth form Abiodun left the College. In 1969 he formed his own group: Sweet Abby and the Tophitters and in 1970 produced a new kind of music known as Adawa (trans: "Independent Being").

    And.... His sonorous voice is an asset to him too. However, he uses the Steel guitar often and prominent than other musicians.

    Dele Abiodun is unique in his style, he developed his Adawa style and popularized it. Hopefully, this will not be the only album and more will follow in the years to come.

    Prince Cyril Bamidele Abioudun Alele was born in Ijebu Ode Ogun State on 23rds March 1948 to a school headteacher who later became the head of Sobe a boundary town of Ondo and Edo State of Nigeria.

    He is considered to be one of the best Juju musicians.

Challenged by this setback, Abiodun formed an almost entirely new band and decided on a radical overhaul of his sound. While overseas he was honored with the title of a large crowd he was dressed in a full admiral uniform on the said day.

    Eschewing the established juju practice of releasing four or five albums a year, Abiodun chose to release just one album a year, free of the sponsorship of local dignitaries and politicians.

    Dele Abiodun A.K.A Admiral Dele Abiodun: singer, composer and guitarist. The Adawa Super Series captivated the Nigerian audience to the extent that he was acclaimed the Juju Prince. Resisting his parents’ plans for a career in medicine, Dele Abiodun used his school fees to enrol at the Young Pioneers School of Music in Accra, Ghana.

    He included more western elements such as electroclaps and drum machines, while also deepening the African base of his music with an expanded drum and percussion section. A tour of the UK in 1974 helped establish his international reputation.
