Oskar Schindler was a German industrialist and member of the Nazi Party who is credited with saving the lives of approximately 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust by employing them in his enamelware and munitions factories in occupied Poland and the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia.
Risking his own life, Schindler used his wealth and influence to protect his Jewish workers from deportation and death, actions for which he was later honored as Righteous Among the Nations by Israel.
This is the true story of one remarkable man who outwitted Hitler and the Nazis to save more Jews from the gas chambers than any other during World War II.
It is the story of Oscar Schindler who surfaced from the chaos of madness, spent millions bribing and paying off the SS and eventually risked his life to rescue the Schindler-Jews.
After the war, Oscar Schindler emigrated to Argentina in 1948 but returned to West Germany ten years later. His story became widely known through Thomas Keneally’s novel 'Schindler’s Ark' and Steven Spielberg's Academy Award-winning film 'Schindler's List'.
