Among people deceased in 1888, Eugène Marin Labiche ranks 44. He worked with Jacques Offenbach, then director of the Bouffes-Parisiens, to write librettos for operettas and for several comic operas. His drama "L'Avocat Loubet" was shown at the small theater "Théâtre du Panthéon," and his vaudeville "Monsieur de Coyllin ou l'homme infiniment poli," co-written with Marc Michel, became a success at the Théâtre du Palais-Royal.

One of his favorite books was the Bible, and he frequently quoted it in his letters and diaries.

Explorations and Discoveries

Between 1492 and 1503, Columbus completed four voyages from Spain to America and back. Geoffroy specialized in playing pompous and flamboyant characters created by Labiche, and many of Labiche's roles were written specifically for him.

Modern doctors tend to believe he was a victim of reactive arthritis (Reiter's syndrome).

On May 20, 1506, Christopher Columbus died in Valladolid, Spain. His plays were more complex and less crude than many other examples of French farce. In 1473, he became an apprentice and business agent for representatives of wealthy Genoese families.

He remains famous for his contribution to the vaudeville genre and his passionate and domestic pochades. Many of his admirers considered Labiche on par with Molière. However, it is known that Columbus sailed along the Lesser Antilles, Greater Antilles, and landed in Puerto Rico. Before him are Wilhelm Peters, Ii Naosuke, Louise Rasmussen, Horace Wells, James Curtis Hepburn, and Jean-Delphin Alard.

It is unclear what happened to Filipa, as some claim she died in 1485, while others say Columbus abandoned her. He devoted himself to learning, studying scientific works and mastering foreign languages. By the end of it, Columbus had fallen out with Spanish colonists and had to suppress a serious rebellion. His long-time friend Emile Augier visited him and strongly recommended that Labiche publish collected and revised editions of his works.

After him are Carl Jonas Love Almqvist, Indro Montanelli, Sophron, Viveca Sten, Stefan Żeromski, and Pierre Alexis Ponson du Terrail.

Contemporaries

Among people born in 1815, Eugène Marin Labiche ranks 37.

Labiche studied law and began his literary career at the age of 20. Although he lacked a formal education, Columbus was able to teach himself many things. There, he directed all his energy towards overseeing agricultural work and land reclamation. Later, the Santa Maria ran aground and had to be abandoned. Spanish authorities later forced him to reconcile with the rebels on humiliating terms and removed him from his post as governor of the new lands.

Columbus also lost his exclusive right to explore the new territories.

The fourth expedition was his last chance to find a direct route to Asia, but his progress was halted by the presence of Central America. He was born on May 5, 1815, into a bourgeois family.
