A MALFORMATION THAT FORCES THE BRAIN INTO THE SPINAL CORD
A Chiari malformation is when the lower parts of the brain have been pushed down towards the spinal cord. The American Association of Neurological Surgeons cited the prevalence of Chiari is “slightly less” than one in 1,000, with most cases being asymptomatic.
“The worst part about Chiari is that it's an invisible disease,” Uchitel wrote on Instagram.
Typical signs to look out include headaches, neck pain, dizziness, numbness, hearing loss and blurred vision.
Surgery is usually the best form of treatment.

Uchitel underwent the major brain surgery in a last-ditch effort to relieve her intense back pain.
She told police that the couple's three-year-old daughter, Wyatt Lilly, was with Hahn when he allegedly said to Rachel 'I hope you die'.
She also told officers that he called her repeatedly over three days, starting from September 6.
Uchitel and Hahn divorced in 2014 after a year-and-a-half of marriage.
Short-lived: The couple, who have a daughter, were only married for a year and half
The split came following a series of heated rows and explosive arguments between the couple.
Uchitel called NYC police on May 16, 2013, after a particularly nasty verbal confrontation, asking for help in getting the then 28-year-old out of the house, the website claims.
However she apparently did not follow up and pursue charges against Hahn.
The former sports star is also said to be have alleged she slapped him after he repeatedly called her names.

It was her affair with Woods which ignited the late 2009 scandal that destroyed his six-year marriage to Elin Nordegren, but she previously claimed becoming a mother transformed her.
She said: 'Being a mum has changed me.
There are three types, which differ in terms of seriousness and symptoms.

Most people find their symptoms improve after the surgery, but sometimes it can lead to no improvements.
She recently went to a surgeon who told her she had a condition called Chiari, a birth defect that causes brain tissue to settle into the spinal canal. Given that most cases are asymptomatic, often discovered by accident, patients like Uchitel are eager to get the word out about this rare disease. Uchitel is pictured here earlier in September lugging a bench into the store just a couple of weeks before she had the life-altering surgery that will see her brain lifted off her skull cavity
She posted the words: 'Morning after brain surgery.
Uchitel herself reported experiencing frequent “headaches, awful back aches, ‘brain fog,’ short term memory loss,” as well as tingling sensations in her hands and feet.
But the worst part for Uchitel, she said, has been the fact she’s unknowingly been living with this rare neurological disorder.
Over the Labor Day weekend, a few weeks before her surgery, Uchitel was seen lifting a bench outside of her children's boutique Wyatt Lilly in New York City.
The business owner, was romantically linked to the golf star in 2010 after being photographed entering his room.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), a component of the National Institutes of Health, explained that "surgery is the only treatment available to correct functional disturbances or halt the progression of damage to the central nervous system." Most individuals will see a reduction in symptoms, but as MSN reported, there’s still a 50 percent chance that symptoms will persist post-surgery.
I've had super rough night but they're doing their best to manage the pain. She was allegedly diagnosed with Chiari malformation earlier this year.
