In a recent magazine article, Avril was described as being "5'2" tops" which means she's probably a short 5'2"....in regards to Deryck, the more pictures I see of him (with clunky shoes) and Avril (in regular soled shoes/sandals), the more I think he can't be more than an inch or so taller than her, if at all.

In the few photos from isifa and alavigne, there's no evidence that Avril's wearing sandals.

It looks like Deryck Whibley's relationship with his ex-wife Avril Lavigne is complicated.

For while the Sum 41 star turned up to support the Sk8er Boi singer at an event for her fashion label last night, he ended up sneaking out for a kissing session with his latest squeeze.

Unfortunately for the diminutive vocalist, it looked like he was a distinct height disadvantage as he shared a smooch with Jocelyn Aguilar at the Viper Room in Hollywood.

And just to make matters worse for the pint-sized pop punk, she had also decided to wear a pair of gigantically stacked platform shoes for the event.

But the handsome 31-year-old singer did not seem to mind, and in fact seemed to revel in being seen with such a statuesque beauty.

However his kissing session may have gone better if he had borrowed a trick from jockey Willie Carson and stood on a box.

Of course she is quite a departure from his former partner, who stood eye-to-eye with him at just a smidgeon over five foot tall.

Joecelyn wore a daring ensemble to the the launch of his former wife's Abbey Dawn Collection, an all black ensemble of extremely tight sheer leggings.

Well, just recently I got measured, turns out I'm actually 5'2".. Frank is exactly the same height as Deryck. Also with many pics of Avril he looks atleast 5'5, my mom next to my best friend (who is 5'1) has around the same height differance. And he's not wearing clown shoes! Deryck is 5'5. though he's like 5'5'' he's taller than Avril, and no one can deny it!!!

yes that height is spot on!

Many people know who he is because he’s so good at making music and has excellent ideas.

Throughout his career, Whibley has received numerous accolades for his work with Sum 41. Could he BE a more obvious short-arse?
