in Social Work and a DSW in Social Welfare—and have worked in diverse settings, including private practice, academia, and military counseling. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she has served in various professorial roles at several universities, including her current position at the City University of New York. Morrison holds dual doctoral degrees: a Ph.D.

As a former director of a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) for at-risk youth in New York City, she led efforts to provide comprehensive care for children in crisis.
