रात को बेचारे घूम-घूमकर कोल देते हैं, नहीं चोरियाँ हो जाये । मोहसिन ने प्रतिवाद किया --- यह कानिसटिबिल पहरा देते हैं। अजी हजरत, यह चोरी कराते हैं। शहर के जितने चोर-डाकू हैं सब इनसे मिले रहते हैं। रात को ये लोग चोरों से तो कहते हैं, चोरी करो और आप दूसरे मुहल्ले में जाकर 'जागते रहो!' पुकारते हैं। हामिद ने पूछा -- यह लोग चोरी करवाते हैं, तो कोई इन्हें पकड़ता नहीं?

Yesईदगाह, मुंशी प्रेमचंद द्वारा लिखित एक कहानी है, जिसमें प्रेमचंद के जीवन के संघर्ष और उनकी परिस्थितियों का वर्णन किया गया है। उनका जन्म 31 जुलाई 1880 को लमही गाँव में हुआ। बचपन में ही उनकी माता का निधन हो गया और पिता की दूसरी शादी ने उनके जीवन में और कठिनाईयाँ पैदा कर दीं। प्रेमचंद की शादी मात्र 15 साल की उम्र में कर दी गई, जिसमें पत्नी उम्र में बड़ी और बदसूरत थी। शादी के एक साल बाद उनके पिता का निधन हो गया, जिससे उनका परिवार आर्थिक संकट में पड़ गया। उन्हें अपने घर का खर्च चलाने के लिए किताबें बेचनी पड़ीं और अंततः एक स्कूल में शिक्षक की नौकरी मिली। प्रेमचंद ने अपनी पढ़ाई मैट्रिक तक पूरी की, और पढ़ाई के लिए उन्होंने कई कठिनाइयों का सामना किया। गरीबी के बावजूद, उन्होंने शिक्षा को महत्व दिया और जीवन की कठिनाइयों का सामना करते हुए आगे बढ़ते रहे। उनका जीवन संघर्ष और दृढ़ता का प्रतीक है।
