It was called Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He partnered with Harry N. Abrams, Inc. to publish Diary of a Wimpy Kid as a book series.
The book quickly became a huge success. New entries were added daily until June 2005.
Kinney worked on his book for almost eight years. These include a movie diary, a Do-It-Yourself Book, and a biography by Greg's best friend, Rowley Jefferson.
In April 2009, TIME magazine named Kinney one of The World's Most Influential People.
This comic appeared in the school's student newspaper, The Diamondback. Kinney helped produce these films.
In May 2015, Kinney and his wife, Julie, opened a bookstore and cafe. The series was also made into movies. In 2007, he started the website Poptropica, which is an educational gaming website for young children. Since then, Kinney has released a new installment in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series every year.
It was in college that Kinneycreated a popularcomic strip, Igdoof, that ran in the campus newspaper, The Diamondback.

Jeffrey Patrick Kinney, born on February 19, 1971, is an American author and cartoonist.
After six years of working on this content, Jeff released the first of many daily installments on Funbrain.com in May 2014.
After receiving millions of views of this content on Funbrain, Jeff brought a printed sample of his manuscript to New York ComicCon in 2006. He also created Poptropica, a website for kids.
In May 2004, Jeff Kinney and Funbrain launched an online version of the story. This gave him more time to work on his comic strip.
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series
In January 1998, Kinney thought of a character named Greg Heffley. On these islands, characters and events from Diary of a Wimpy Kid appear in the Poptropicaworld.
By 2023, over 275 million copies of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books had been sold worldwide.
This movie combined stories from The Last Straw and Dog Days.
A fourth film, The Long Haul, was announced by Kinney in April 2016. The books have sold more than 300 million copies globally.
In addition to the book series, Jeff has written and illustrated three spin-off titles in the Awesome Friendly Kid series, written from the perspective of Greg’s best friend, Rowley Jefferson.
Beyond the books, the Wimpy Kid series has been adapted into four live action movies, three animated films on Disney+ and a Musical.
The books have been adapted into films, and Kinney has also written two books which are spin-offs of the movies, and in 2019 he published a novel written from the perspective of Greg's best friend Rowley, called Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson's Journal.
Kinney has built a career around the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise, including his executive producer roles on the four Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies that have come out so far.
It was called "The No Brainer Show." He traveled across the West Coast of the United States from October 23 to November 8, 2023. But he has also branched out into other projects. He first studied computer science but changed to criminal justice. While he wasn't able to translate that into a career in comics at the time, the idea stuck with Kinney.
In 1998 he developed the idea for the main character of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Greg.
