Laura Numeroff wrote and illustrated her first nine books herself. She was a fashion designer and I thought it sounded like a great job. It teaches readers how to make a monster a good pet.

Emily, the middle sister, was a fashion designer and now owns her own company that helps other fashion designers find new jobs! She does not think she would illustrate a whole book by herself anymore.
