Augustine kofie most famous piece of art
Home / General Biography Information / Augustine kofie most famous piece of art
Self-taught, which makes his technique all the more
impressive, Augustine Kofie has opened a rich dialogue between architecture and
movement, and between the iconography of the 1960s and contemporary art. His geometric block-inspired work offers a compelling dialogue between past and future, order and chaos, and the ephemeral beauty of the urban landscape.
As he continues to create and exhibit, Augustine Kofie's influence on the contemporary art scene remains undeniable.
The music remains central and guides all his gestures, with a perpetual search for balance between control and improvisation evoking free jazz.

Augustine Kofie is undeniably one of the most prominent representatives of Graffuturism.
Historically, the American artist is among those who most contributed to this revolution
in graffiti, using canvasses, wood, and recycled objects to create abstract compositions
and retro-futuristic visions.

The Evolution of his Art
Augustine Kofie’s work is the result of constant exploration and bold experimentation. While academic rigor provided structure and theory, it was the raw, untamed energy of the Los Angeles urban landscape that truly ignited his artistic compulsion.

Augustine Kofie (Kofie One), redefining Urban Landscapes
The world of street art is full of talented artists who transform the gray walls of cities into artistic masterpieces.
In the end, it is less the space between them than their
continuity that imbues his work with magnetic power, characterized by the union of soft
curves and curvy lines.

GO!
[Grand Opening!]24 Oct - 28 Nov 2015On the occasion of its third anniversary, Chenus Longhi Gallery (formerly Openspace Gallery) is moving to a new 240 m2 space with 4 exhibition rooms spread over three levels.
Whether working on canvas, paper, or large-scale murals, Kofie's attention to detail and his ability to create dynamic tension between order and chaos are evident. From a young age, he was fascinated by the graffiti and artistic expressions that filled the city’s streets. Augustine Kofie collaborates with American galleries in New York and Los Angeles, and with a gallery in Denmark and since 2013 has been represented in France by Galerie Chenus Longhi and the exhibitions' cycle it has organised on the theme of Graffuturism.
It may be understood in thirty years or so that Augustine Kofie is to Graffuturism what Jackson Pollock is to Action Painting.
His relationship to form is based on both an architectural geometric rigour in the lines and angles - which become more and more acute as the years go by - and on the harmony of the colours - which become softer and softer - as well as the curves, circles and semicircles that structure the composition.
