After her death in 1588, Agnes was buried in the tomb of James Stewart, 1st Earl of Moray, in St Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Life in Borneo

Harry was Conservator of Forests and Director of Agriculture for the government of North Borneo under the Chartered Company, and was also Honorary Curator of the State Museum. The judges voted unanimously for her entry to win, and it was partly serialized in the magazine before being published in November of that year as "Land Below the Wind".

In January 1572, Agnes married Colin Campbell, who inherited the title of 6th Earl of Argyll the following year and served as Chancellor of Scotland. They had two sons and a daughter, and Agnes was seen as being the power behind the throne, both during both her husband's time as 6th Earl of Argyll and after their son Archibald became 7th Earl of Argyll in 1584.

Lady Agnes Keith (sometimes called Annas or Anna) lived from some time around 1540 to 16 July 1588. The book received favorable reviews: "" described it as "A delightful book ... Keith, an Englishman, had been a friend of Al's when both boys had been at the same school in San Diego, and Agnes had first met him when she was eight years old.

Keith had gone on to work for the Government of North Borneo, and Agnes had not seen him in ten years when he visited California whilst on leave in 1934. Harry was immediately ordered back to Borneo.
